About Lindsay

Lindsay Haukom is a graduate of the Eastman School of Music, where she is pursuing a Master of Music in Harp Performance and Literature.  She currently studies with Andrea Mumm, principal harpist of the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra.  Her former teachers include Kathleen Bride, retired Professor of Harp at Eastman for over 35 years, and Megan Sesma, principal harpist of the U.S. Coast Guard Band.

A recipient of the Performer’s Certificate, Lindsay recently presented her senior degree recital, a thoughtfully curated program of late-Romantic and early twentieth-century French masterworks.  Originally composed for harp and orchestra, these works were transcribed for harp and organ by Lindsay and her duo partner, the internationally acclaimed organist Aaron Tan.  She is deeply passionate about harp–organ collaboration and looks forward to continuing work in this field.

Lindsay has performed with a wide range of ensembles, including the Eastman Philharmonia, the Empire Film and Media Ensemble, the Eastman Opera Theater pit orchestra, and the Eastman Harp Ensemble.  She has a particular passion for wind ensemble and has enjoyed notable performance and recording experiences with the Eastman Wind Ensemble (EWE) under the direction of Dr. Mark Davis Scatterday.  Some of her favorite moments with EWE include performances with Professor Emeritus Dr. Donald Hunsberger and the recording of EWE’s most recent album, Tyzik Joyride: The Music of Jeff Tyzik (2025).

As a recipient of the Catherine Filene Shouse Arts Leadership Program Certificate, Lindsay has interned with Eastman’s Music For All, a community engagement initiative that connects student chamber ensembles with local schools, libraries, retirement homes, shelters, and other community spaces.  She has also interned with Pegasus Early Music, one of Rochester’s longest-standing early music organizations.

Lindsay currently works as a teaching assistant for undergraduate music theory at Eastman and as a marketing assistant for Eastman’s Institute for Music Leadership.  In addition to harp, she is interested in liturgical music and has studied organ with Aaron Tan.  She also serves as a volunteer member of the choir at The Church of St. Luke and St. Simon Cyrene.

Outside of music, Lindsay enjoys spending time outdoors, connecting with family and friends, and playing with her beloved cat, Kitten.
